Job Description

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company known for quality products and a strong commitment to innovation, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in manufacturing cost analysis and a passion for process improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
  
  
• Prepare and review monthly cost reports and variance analyses to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  
  
• Partner with operations to monitor production efficiency, yield, and waste reporting.
  
  
• Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory valuations.
  
  
• Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting.
  
  
• Conduct inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  
  
• Provide financial support for pricing, new product launches, and process changes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  
  
• 2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
  
  
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory control, and variance analysis.
  
  
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; experience with [ERP name] is a plus.
  
  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
