Cost Accountant Description

Our client, a global manufacturer, is seeking a Cost Accountant to evaluate and optimize costing processes for their Pennsylvania facility. This role will focus on evaluating the existing cost system, analyzing part-level costs, and helping ensure accuracy in reporting. Responsibilities include preparing cost variance reports, conducting time study reviews, and performing BOM checks, with the opportunity to collaborate with engineering and operations. Cost Accountant Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing part-level costing and set standards
• Assess and improve the current costing structure and processes
• Develop standardized procedures for capturing time study data
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead rates; update as needed
• Partner with engineering and operations to maintain accurate BOMs and routings
• Monitor and report on manufacturing variances and provide recommendations
• Prepare cost analysis reports for management and strategic planning
• Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives to improve margins and efficiency

Cost Accountant Qualifications

• 2 years of cost accounting experience is required
• Knowledge of inventory or costing systems is required
• Advanced Excel skills , including formatting, formulas (ex: VLOOKUP) & pivot tables, are required
• Ability to work 100% on-site is required
