The Opportunity: We are seeking a Director of Security to join the DFCU Financial team. The Director of Security will administer and steer DFCU Financial’s physical security program. Serve as Security Officer to ensure corporate security standards are upheld, the security program scales properly and is aligned with corporate strategic objectives. What You’ll Do: Conduct threat assessments of DFCU Financial facilities and remediate areas of risk to maximize employee and member safety, including maintaining a comprehensive Executive Security Program. Select and oversee the work of external security contractors. Coordinate with external law enforcement agencies in the investigation and resolution of accidents, robbery, or other physical security incidents. Manage the surveillance monitoring systems across multiple locations, ensuring reliable functionality with up-to-date equipment. Make recommendations and oversee upgrades and replacement of failed systems/equipment as appropriate. Manage the alarm monitoring system across multiple locations, ensuring reliable functionality of all installed equipment. Ensure periodic alarm testing is completed within the required time frame. Work with DFCU’s contracted vendor to address any issues involving equipment malfunctions or failures. Manage the access control system across multiple locations, ensuring reliable functionality and programming. Work with DFCU’s contracted vendor to address any issues involving equipment malfunctions or failures. Manage the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) including documenting to corporate standards, using appropriate software to maximize efficiency, and collaborating with internal business unit leaders to ensure the Plan is current. Monitor team member security training to include robbery training, active assailant training, and evacuation drills. Manage a security vendor scorecard to assess vendor value and service level agreement (SLA) performance. Review incoming Member Incident Reports, execute corrective action for extreme service interactions, and prepare timely reports of the same for Audit Committee. Maintain DFCU Financial Security procedures. Manage staffing including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development and performance expectations. What You’ll Need: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Facilities Management) or equivalent appropriate work experience. 7+ years corporate security leadership experience, financial institution or law enforcement preferred. ASIS International Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification. State of Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL), and Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) firearms training, security intervention and de-escalation training. Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication. Able to manage projects and multitask.
