Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair company vehicles and field equipment. This role involves working both on-site for minor repairs and in the shop for more extensive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on equipment safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, both in the field and in the shop.

• Troubleshoot electrical, engine, transmission, brakes, steering, frame, cab, and hydraulic systems, utilizing diagrams, service manuals, and troubleshooting web tools like VCAD's.

• Communicate with customers regarding issues and cost estimates for repair work.

• Order necessary parts for repairs and coordinate with the parts department regarding backorders.

• Conduct welding on equipment as required.

• Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, clutches, and change filters and oil.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics.

• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and bulletins.

• Experience with troubleshooting web tools such as VCAD's.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Skilled in welding.

• Knowledgeable in conducting routine maintenance checks.

This is a Permanent position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
