Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to review, check and manage accuracy of the final drawings, making sure all AISC standards are met along with project revisions in the final documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective communication with Job Captain and project team members
• Strong background in miscellaneous metals, stairs, structural and architectural detailing
• Review fabrication shop and field erecting drawings for accuracy and conformance with AISC standards, project requirements, and BAPKO standards
• Check Drawings (E-sheets & shop details)
• Ensure accuracy of dimensions, material specifications, and fabrication details on shop drawings
• Review design drawings for accuracy and completeness, and coordinates resolution of discrepancies and/or missing information with project team
• Reading and interpreting architectural, structural, other design drawings and specifications.
• Review RFI's, bulletins, etc., that impact changes in scope
• Review drawing submittals from detailers and provide feedback and corrections before submission to customer
• Review TEKLA model to check accuracy of connections, dimensions, materials. Check drawings for missing information and weld symbols
• Other duties and tasks may be assigned

Preferred Education, experience, qualifications and other requirements:

• High school diploma/GED and 7+ years’ experience in miscellaneous steel industry.
• Proficient with Tekla Structures software
• Knowledge of building codes IBC ADA Title 24
• Knowledge of AISC standards and AWS codes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong background in miscellaneous metals, stairs, structural & architectural detailing
