Overview:Deliver Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training to agency staff while ensuring that training methods align with organizational goals and safety standards. Support inpatient programs with CPI techniques, foster improved prevention methods, and enhance staff competencies through targeted training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery: Conduct CPI training for new and current staff using a variety of instructional methods.
Program Development: Research, develop, and facilitate training programs tailored to staff needs.
Performance Review: Evaluate "code green" events to improve intervention strategies.
Data Management: Maintain records of CPI training and generate reports on safety and crisis management initiatives.
Collaboration: Work with internal teams to enhance the implementation of Crisis Prevention models.
Crisis Response: Assist with patient interventions during crises using approved CPI techniques and document events per protocol.
Required Skills:
Strong instructional and training facilitation skills using modern and traditional techniques.
Ability to analyze and apply relevant regulations and internal policies.
Proficiency in developing educational materials and evaluating training needs.
Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
Ability to demonstrate and perform the physical aspects of the position (i.e. getting up and down on floor, standing for long periods of time, bending, squatting, pushing, lifting, maintaining holds, etc.).
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a field related to behavioral health preferred.
Three (3) years of Training experience and/or behavioral direct care experience preferred.
Professional experience can substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Access preferred.
Licensure or Certification:
Current valid driver’s license.
Maintain Apalachee Designated Auto Driver status.
Must obtain CPI certification within 6 months. Must maintain CPI certification.
