Legacy Healthcare Center located on Jamieson Road in Saint Louis is looking for you!

We are seeking reliable, heard working candidates to assist in the kitchen of one of our residential care facilities located in Saint Louis, MO. Promise Care Center is looking for a Dietary Cook & Dietary Aide! Our organization is 3rd-generation family owned and proud to carry on a legacy of caring for people. We provide a safe and pleasant home for adults with mental illness, and we strive to always be beyond the norm to provide a better quality of life for our residents! Your job will be to ensure that kitchen duties are completed on the weekend shift in accordance with our companys policies and regulatory guidelines. You must be self-motivated and energetic.

Essential Functions:

• Set up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order
• Prepare meals under the supervision of a dietary manager or cook

Ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards

Follow proper food handling procedures and regulations

• Deliver dishes and trays at designated times and rooms
• Take down dining areas and collect plates, glasses etc.
• Discard leftovers and take out garbage
• Clean food stations and wash dishes, cooking vessels and silverware
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory
• Assist in keeping track of expenses and menu planning

Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances

Follow proper food handling procedures and regulations

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Assist the Dietary Manager in other dietary-related tasks

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Further experience in customer service will be appreciated
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
• Skilled in preparing meals according to instructions
• Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment

Familiarity with menu planning and catering concepts as well as culinary techniques and best practices

Education/Experience:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Ability to use kitchen equipment such as knives effectively

Experience in fine dining establishments is a plus

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Friendly with good communication skills
• Good physical condition and stamina
